This 5k course is a beautiful, challenging loop that weaves in and out of the spruce and aspen forest and skirts the base of Gibson’s Ridge. It has some big hill climbs as well as fast and fun descents. The views on the eastern end of Ruthie’s are stunning. The western side of Ruthie’s Run crosses some open meadows while the rest is tucked in the forest with some great climbs and undulating terrain.

Directions
Drive west on Elk Ave, turn left on Second Street and go to the Nordic Center parking lot. The Trail starts from here. Make sure to stop inside the center and grab your trail pass!
Route
From the Nordic Center. Head behind the ice rink up the groomed trail. Stay on the main trail as it climbs to the top of the hill and crosses a road. Once across the road you will find the trail junction. Head left or right to begin your loop. There are a few connector trails to make shorter loops but we recommend staying on the outside loop. After the loop is done you can head back across the road back to the Nordic Center or head right down to Town Ranch for more riding.
