A circumnavigation of Gothic Mountain on skis. The Gothic Mountain Tour offers a 23.5-mile competitive race and a 17.85-mile recreational tour around the peak, hosted by Crested Butte Nordic. Unique, tough, and beautiful, and the classic place to test your systems before the Grand Traverse.
Sunday, February 14, 2027. Starts at the Crested Butte Community School at 6 AM. Registration through Crested Butte Nordic.
What to bring: Backcountry setup, layers for a 6 AM start, water and food for a long day out. Check the mandatory gear list at cbnordic.org before race week.
The race is a 23.5-mile timed circumnavigation of Gothic Mountain. The tour is a 17.85-mile recreational version of the loop for people who want the day out without the clock.
It is the classic systems check. Six weeks before the Grand Traverse, the Gothic Mountain Tour is where racers test gear, pacing and partners on real terrain.
