Brush Creek is home to one of Crested Butte's most iconic 4x4 and ATV trails Pearl Pass connecting Aspen to Crested Butte.  Enjoy rich Colorado mining history as well as scenic views of the Maroon Bells Wilderness along historic Pearl Pass.


4Wheel Drive and ATV Use

4WD's and ATV's are allowed on Brush Creek, Farris Creek, East Brush Creek, and West Brush Creek. The main trail follows Brush Creek as it climbs up to the top of Pearl Pass (12,705 ft). After the pass the road skirts along the edge of the Maroon Bells Wilderness at makes its way down to Ashcroft. The trail ends at Ashcroft but you can continue down into Aspen.

Brush Creek/ Pearl Pass Directions

From the Town of Crested Butte:  Drive 2 miles south on CO 135 and make a left onto County Road 738 (Brush Creek Road). Continue on another 1.9 miles as pavement turns to dirt. Stay on the road for the next 2.6 miles until you come upon a fork for East Brush Creek. Stay right at this fork and continue on up to Pearl Pass. 
There are a few stream crossings along the trail.
