The valley’s annual gear migration. Skis, boards, boots, jackets, goggles and gloves change hands over two days in the Lodge at Mountaineer Square Ballroom, and every sale supports the Crested Butte Snowsports Foundation scholarship program, which puts local kids on snow who otherwise wouldn’t get there.
Friday, November 6, 4 to 8 pm: First Tracks. A $25 suggested donation for adult entry gets you first pick of the racks before the general public, plus this year’s swag bag. The best gear tends to leave on Friday. Plan accordingly.
Saturday, November 7, 9 am to noon: The Swap. Free entry, whatever is left on the racks, and prices that reward the patient.
Selling gear? Drop it off at any of these locations, 11 am to 3 pm unless noted:
- Saturday, October 24: Gunnison Recreation Center
- Sunday, October 25: Four-Way parking lot, Crested Butte
- Sunday, November 1: Zuni West Brewing, CB South
- Friday, November 6: Lodge at Mountaineer Square, Mt. Crested Butte, 9 am to noon
