Where is the Crested Butte pow cam?
The Pow Cam and the Snow Stake are both on this page in the Powcams section, live from the resort. The stake is cleared every morning at 5:45 am, so what you see is overnight snow. For totals, base depth and the 10 day forecast, open The Crested Butte Snow Report.
Is there a Kebler Pass webcam?
No. There is no public camera on Kebler Pass, and the road closes to cars for the winter after the first big storms. The closest views are the CB South and Whetstone cam and the CO 135 cams on this page. Check cotrip.org for the gate status.
Is there a live cam of downtown Crested Butte?
Yes, two. The Signature Properties cam looks down Elk Avenue from 326 Elk, and the Chopwood Mercantile cam watches the sidewalk a block away. Both are in the Mountain & Town section.
How often do these webcams update?
The resort players, the Elk Avenue cam and the Gothic cams are live video. The road cams from CDOT and the CB South and Whetstone cam are still images that refresh every few minutes, and this page reloads them for you. A cam that goes dark usually comes back within a day or two.
Is Monarch Pass open?
The Monarch Pass card in the Roads section shows the summit on US 50 right now, from both CDOT and the FAA. For closures, chain laws and plow status, CDOT posts them at cotrip.org, which is also where these images come from.
Where can I see current snow conditions in Crested Butte?
The Right Now strip at the top of this page shows new snow and base depth from the Butte SNOTEL, updated through the day. The Crested Butte Snow Report has the full picture: the 10 day forecast, grooming, lifts and the season to date.
Some Crested Butte webcams lose signal from time to time. They typically return within a day or two, which is more than can be said for the plow schedule.
