Jordan Brandenburg picked up the mandolin the roundabout way: raised on church music in Tyler, Texas, he caught the bluegrass bug in high school, set music aside for an energy career, then moved to Denver, bought a mandolin, and never looked back. He is a founding member of Front Range bluegrass band Turkeyfoot and lists Sam Bush, Guy Clark, Tim O’Brien, and Ernest Hemingway among his influences, which tells you something about the songwriting. Free on the Eldo deck above Elk Avenue, 3 to 6 pm.
