A reluctant caterpillar sets out to save a disappearing rainforest, and discovers what he is made of along the way. Bodhi and the Rainforest comes to the Steddy Theater for three performances in August, staged by a cast of local young performers.
Written and composed by Crested Butte artist Suzanne Pierson, the environmental children’s musical has a serious pedigree for a show about a caterpillar. It won the United Nations Environment Program International Prize, Kids for Saving the Earth, and the Smithsonian picked it up for 13 performances at the Denver Museum of Natural Science and History. Pierson partners here with actor and director Mary Tuck and local pros Angela Carroll, Andrea Pepitone, and Neil Windsor.
Rainforest creature costumes are encouraged. Come early for a photo in front of the rainforest set, and know that spontaneous rain dancing in the Grace Atrium is entirely welcome.
