Bringing murder and mayhem — the fictional kind — to Crested Butte

A thrilling weekend celebrating all things murder and mystery, including author conversations, a live panel exchange with Scottish crime writers, mystery writing workshops, true crime podcast discussion, youth forensics workshop, “Noir in the Bar” event, murder mystery dinner, and more! Visiting authors include: New York Times bestselling author of fourteen full-length novels in the Walt Longmire mystery series, Craig Johnson; award winning mystery & suspense writer Christine Carbo; and Jakob Rodgers and Lance Benzel of the true crime podcast, Colorado Cold Case. Location: Various throughout Crested Butte and Gunnison.

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 21

5:30 – 7 pm Kick-off reception Ticketed with teaser readings, cocktail hour and heavy appetizers. Location: Elk Mountain Lodge – FREE

7:30 pm Tour de Daggers Dinner Private, multi-course dinner with a private chef and the captivating company of award winning, best-selling authors Craig Johnson, Christine Carbo and more. Space limited. $125

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 22

10 – 11 am Coffee & Cold Cases Discussion with Colorado Cold Case Podcast Reporters and Lance Benzel and Jakob Rodgers. Location: The Center – $20

10 – 11:30 am Solve the crime scene mystery. For late-elementary + middle school students. Location: CB Marshalls Office. $15

11:15 am – 12:30 pm Creating thrilling suspense with Christine Carbo and hand-crafted Bloody Marys. Location: the Center. $40

1:00 – 2:00 pm High Tea + High Crime – Women on Crime Writing over Lunch Author panel on writing true and fictional crime. Your ticket includes lunch and tea service. Location: the Center. $20

1:30 – 3:00 pm Longmire Screening + Discussion With Craig Johnson. Location: The Majestic Theater. $20

3:30 – 5:00 pm Readings, Q&A + book signing + sales. With Craig Johnson, Christine Carbo, Rachel Monroe, Barbara Nickless and more. Location: the Center’s Gamble Bar. FREE

6:30 pm Murder Mystery Dinner Gravestone Wild West. Location: Slogar Restaraunt $55

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 23

10 – 11:15 am Murder + Mystery in the Gunnison Valley Discussion of murder, mystery and intrigue in the Gunnison Valley with County Coroner, Michael Barnes, Gunnison County Sheriff, John Gallowich, and local historian, Duane Vandenbusche. $10
