The ReMemberers is a multidisciplinary performance collective blending ritual storytelling, sacred song, and live instrumentation into a prismatic experience of traditional myth and memory. Part theatre, part concert, part ceremony. Annie Southard’s numinous vocalizations, Alex Harvey’s vibrating strings, and John de Kadt’s masterful storytelling converge in a dynamic interplay that transports audiences into states of poetic resonance. Their performances awaken ancient tales from folkloric and mystical traditions, live-scored, with both traditional and original melodies from around the world.
Each gathering hosted by The ReMemberers invites listeners to journey inward, exploring the shifting contours of their inner mythologies through an encounter with a traditional wisdom tale. Through spiraling rhythms, layered exposition, and playful revelation, the performance dissolves psychic boundaries and reconnects the dismembered parts of the audience’s individual, collective, and ancestral subconscious. This communion of spoken word and sacred song knits together some of the most profound and enduring customs of being human.
