Raging, expressive guitar. Soulful, rugged singing. A phenomenal blend of self-awareness, spirit and muscle. These are just some of the wordsย Relix Magazineย uses to describe New Orleansโ blues guitar man Anders Osborne.ย New Orleans’ Gambit Weeklyย recently honored Osborne as โEntertainer of the Year,โ heโsย OffBeatโsย three-time winner of โBest Guitarist,โ and twice named their โBest Songwriter.โ Heโs appeared on Galactic albums, co-written songs with Tab Benoit and Mike Zito, had Johnny Lang record others, and most notably wrote two songs for Kebโ Moโs Grammy-winning album,ย Slow Down. Risk-taking anthems, precision guitar playing and the tremulous wail rising from emotional chaos haveย Guitar Playerย calling him the โpoet laureate of Louisianaโs fertile roots music scene.โ Paired withย Americana and roots singer-songwriterย Jackie Greene,ย a jack-of-all-trades, and an artist who can croon over soulful piano ballads as much as he can shred a bluesy guitar solo (like he did as the lead guitarist for The Black Crowes in 2013). A road warrior and musician’s musician, Greene’s new EP ‘The Modern Lives – Vol 2’ (out October 2018 on Blue Rose Music) finds him at a new chapter in his life: his first months of fatherhood, time off his relentless touring circuit, and a cross-country move from Brooklyn to his birthplace of Northern California.
