Raging, expressive guitar. Soulful, rugged singing. A phenomenal blend of self-awareness, spirit and muscle. These are just some of the wordsย Relix Magazineย uses to describe New Orleansโ€™ blues guitar man Anders Osborne.ย New Orleans’ Gambit Weeklyย recently honored Osborne as โ€œEntertainer of the Year,โ€ heโ€™sย OffBeatโ€™sย three-time winner of โ€œBest Guitarist,โ€ and twice named their โ€œBest Songwriter.โ€ Heโ€™s appeared on Galactic albums, co-written songs with Tab Benoit and Mike Zito, had Johnny Lang record others, and most notably wrote two songs for Kebโ€™ Moโ€™s Grammy-winning album,ย Slow Down. Risk-taking anthems, precision guitar playing and the tremulous wail rising from emotional chaos haveย Guitar Playerย calling him the โ€œpoet laureate of Louisianaโ€™s fertile roots music scene.โ€ Paired withย Americana and roots singer-songwriterย Jackie Greene,ย a jack-of-all-trades, and an artist who can croon over soulful piano ballads as much as he can shred a bluesy guitar solo (like he did as the lead guitarist for The Black Crowes in 2013). A road warrior and musician’s musician, Greene’s new EP ‘The Modern Lives – Vol 2’ (out October 2018 on Blue Rose Music) finds him at a new chapter in his life: his first months of fatherhood, time off his relentless touring circuit, and a cross-country move from Brooklyn to his birthplace of Northern California.
