In Case You Missed This Season
This winter has come and gone in what seems like a flash. Here's a look back at a few of our favorite moments that took place this season.
Someone Shook the Snowglobe
The snow really held out on us at the beginning of this winter season, the resort opened and the snow was almost entirely man-made. Luckily for us, around Christmas time we received 99 inches over the course of 10 days! The buildings and homes around town sported pillowy snow hats as they were buried for weeks.
Christmas in Crested Butte
Christmas was one for the books! With fresh powder from the large snow storm and sunny bluebird skies, the conditions were perfect for skiing or taking a stroll around town. The holiday season, along with spring break is one of the busiest times here in town.
What's with the Costumes?
Every winter Crested Butte Nordic puts on the Alley Loop Marathon, which includes multiple XC ski races through the streets, alleyways, and narrow bridges in the heart of Crested Butte! This race is known to be one of CB's most outrageous costume events of the year. The conditions chilly, but sunny as people in all kinds of costumes gathered on Elk Ave to participate and spectate.
Backcountry Brunch
There are few better ways to spend your Sunday morning than cross-country skiing to the Yurt. We made multiple trips throughout the winter and consumed our fill of pastries, pie, and coffee. This experience is always a highlight of our season.
So Long Ski Season
Spring skiing is still here, with only a few more days (as of publishing) to enjoy the resort before it closes! The temperatures are warming up and with that comes skiers in shorts and other summer outfits. We love watching the pond skim on closing weekend and celebrating another winter well spent in the Butte.
