About Crested Butte Nordic
CB Nordic’s lesson and tour program is the most welcoming entry point into cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in Colorado. Every lesson is private, 75 minutes, and tailored to your goals and skill level, taught by PSIA-certified instructors who specialize in turning never-evers into confident skiers. Trail pass and rental gear are included.
Tours take you deeper: guided snowshoe trips through spruce forests and meadows (no experience needed), or cross-country ski tours for those who want to go further into our winter wonderland. Half-day, full-day, and 7.5-hour epic options. Want to dip a toe in first? Thursday Learn to Skate Free clinics offer a 60-minute, zero-cost intro to a new sport.
Local's Tip
Book your first lesson early in the week. Lessons are private, so weekend slots fill fast during ski breaks. Classic is the easiest start for newbies and you'll be gliding on flats within an hour. If you're already comfortable on skis, skip the lesson and book a half-day tour instead. Your guide picks terrain that matches your fitness and customizes the route after you book.
