Chef Michael Marchitelli: Marchitelli’s Gourmet Noodle
A meal with Michael Marchitelli is as much about the entertainment as it is about the food. While this Crested Butte classic is known for his cooking repertoire stocked with family recipes from his grandmother’s Italian heritage, some may not know of his deep-seated love affair with New Orleans. After living in the Crescent City and attending Tulane University, before his decades-long tenure with Marchitelli’s Gourmet Noodle, before the faithful following he garnered there, Chef Michael opened his first culinary endeavor with his mother – a New Orleans blues bar in Pennsylvania. He immediately fell in love. Now he can let that love shine twisting up his own unique and surprising takes on the classics from shrimp and grits to loaded French toast. We don’t know what will spill from his creative cooking pot, but we’re sure it will be a raucous – and flavorful – good time.
Tony Trahan & the BlueKrewe plays a mix of swampy, Louisiana roots music straight from the bayou. Like a good Cajun gumbo, Tony and the Krewe add different seasonings to the pot—a pinch of zesty zydeco, a splash of Cajun flare, fistfuls of rockin’ blues and a heaping helping of New Orleans funk. They are a Front Range favorite, with a rep as one of the best party bands this side of the Mississippi.
