DESCRIPTION:Taarka seamlessly fuses brilliant instrumental chops with songwriting of great depth and creativity\, cooking up musical “sustenance that stays with you long after you’ve pushed away from the table.” Adventurers through the many landscapes of music and true world travelers\, veterans of 1000-year floods and veggie oil tour buses\, David (voice\, mandolin\, guitar\, and octave mandolin) and Enion Pelta-Tiller (voice\, 5-string violin)\, accompanied by the talents of Troy Robey (bass) and Larry Thompson (drums) spin stories and melodies that delight\, inspire\, and move all who listen. \nOnce described as “a collision between Django Reinhardt and David Grisman” (SF Weekly)\, Taarka’s strikes a balance between well-crafted songs and spirited instrumentals\, expanding on their beginnings as a purely instrumental string band putting a modern spin on Gypsy and Eastern European folk music. Taarka has drawn from wide-ranging influences over the past 16 years. DESCRIPTION:Monday August 5th: Cody Canada & the Departed \nAlpenglow is the Center for the Arts’ FREE outdoor concert series on Monday evenings during the summer. With Crested Butte Mountain and Paradise Divide as the backdrop\, come enjoy the sounds of a variety of music. Bring along your chairs\, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. Join friends and family as we enjoy the best that summer in Crested Butte has to offer. \n\nSustainability\nIn order to reduce our carbon footprint and costs associated with the purchase and removal of single-use plastics\, the Center has chosen to convert to reusable cups for Alpenglow this year. All patrons will be required to purchase a cup for $1 with their initial purchase that can be used throughout the entire Alpenglow season.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL\nThe Center for the Arts  sells beer\, wine and alcohol under a special events license with the Town of Crested Butte. As such\, no outdoor alcohol is allowed at the event. Please respect this policy and refrain from bringing your own alcoholic beverages. Support the Center by purchasing your libations through each event’s beer sponsor or the Center’s bar. \nNO PETS\nSince dogs are not allowed in Town Park\, your pooches are likewise not allowed to experience Alpenglow. Please leave your pets at home. \nNO GLASS\nGlass is not allowed in Town Park. Please bring beverages in cans or plastic containers. \nDO NOT EMPTY YOUR ICE CHEST\nPlease respect Town’s regulation to not empty your ice chest on the park lawn. The ice and chilled water can freeze and kill the grass
