SUMMARY:Summer Classics in the Courtyard: Hot Tub Jazz
DESCRIPTION:Join in every Tuesday for live music in the Feldberg East Courtyard! From classical\, to jazz and world music\, we hope you enjoy these intimate live performances over cocktails from the Black Dragon Bar\, with stunning summer views. \n  \nTickets & Info \n  \nHot Tub Jazz was originally formed in Boulder\, Colorado in the early 80’s when Scott Betts gathered some friends together to play some tunes. The quartet was asked to play it’s first gig at the grand opening of a health club in the foothills outside of Boulder. \nBefore playing the job\, the four musicians were sitting in the hot tub at the club trying to come up with a name for the group and Hot Tub Jazz was born. \nThe western slope version has played at Colorado Mountain Winefest & Jazz Among the Grapevines. The Hot Tub Jazz plays many of the great jazz standards of the American Songbook. We also include more contemporary tunes from folks like Michael Franks and Van Morrison. You may even hear jazz versions of other pop and country songs.

SUMMARY:The Vagina Monologues
DESCRIPTION:Tickets & Info \n  \nFirebird Theatre & the Center for the Arts present The Vagina Monologues\, a wonderful night of funny\, poignant\, and thought-provoking theatre to raise funds for Project Hope of the Gunnison Valley! Project Hope’s mission is to support\, educate and provide confidential advocacy to individuals affected by domestic violence\, sexual assault\, stalking and/or human trafficking. Firebird stands with this great organization\, and to that end\, we’re excited to be bringing this powerful play to the Center on February 28th. The Vagina Monologues are an iconic feminist creation written by Eve Ensler\, and they are exactly that: monologues about vaginas. Originally written in 1996\, Ensler’s play explores themes like menstruation\, genital mutilation\, consensual and non consensual sexual encounters\, childbirth\, and much more from women’s point of view. This is an incredibly fun\, humbling and powerful experience\, not to be missed. \nProceeds will go directly to Project Hope of the Gunnison Valley. \n

SUMMARY:Live at the Center: The Motet
DESCRIPTION:Formed over two decades ago\, the funk six-piece The Motet have learned to work as an interlocking unit\, with each member bolstering one another towards the best creative output. This symbiosis has led to a unique style and cohesive musical chemistry\, as seen in the band’s immaculate live performances and seamless blend of funk\, soul\, jazz\, and rock. With a fervent fanbase in tow\, The Motet have sold out shows across the nation\, performed six headlining slots at Red Rocks\, and sets at festivals such as Bonnaroo\, Bottlerock\, Electric Forest\, Bumbershoot\, Summer Camp\, and High Sierra. But even after their 20+ years of accolades and recognition\, the legendary outfit—composed of Dave Watts (drums)\, Joey Porter (keys)\, Garrett Sayers (bass)\, Drew Sayers (keys and saxophone)\, Ryan Jalbert (guitar)\, and new singer Sarah Clarke—are still exploring new sonic ideas and finding new ways to showcase each other’s skill sets. \nThe band released All Day in 2023—an eclectic instrumental voyage threaded by the infectious grooves and immaculate\, layered arrangements that The Motet have become known for. Now\, with vocal powerhouse Sarah Clarke in tow\, the band continues their journey with their highly anticipated 10th studio album Love Time\, out November 15\, 2024. \n  \nTickets & Info \n
