SUMMARY:The Brothers Comatose
DESCRIPTION:Tickets & Info \nFusing old school string band instrumentation with rock and roll exuberance\, The Brothers Comatose cement their status as standard bearers of a thriving\, innovative West Coast roots movement on their intoxicating new album\, Golden Grass. Recorded with co-producers Greg Holden and Tim Bluhm\, the collection is as diverse and enthralling as the California landscape itself—at times carefree and breezy\, at times wild and rugged—with lush\, organic arrangements full of rich vocal harmonies and driving guitar\, fiddle\, banjo\, mandolin\, and upright bass. \nWhile the record marks the group’s first release with newest member Addie Levy\, the result is quintessential Brothers Comatose: a warm\, joyful reflection on identity and the ties that bind from a band that knows exactly who they are (and exactly where they come from). \nFounded by Ben and Alex Morrison in 2008\, The Brothers Comatose first emerged from San Francisco with their 2010 debut\, Songs From The Stoop\, which helped earn dates with the likes of Gillian Welch & David Rawlings\, Greensky Bluegrass\, and Trampled By Turtles. \nIn the decade-and-a-half that followed\, the critically acclaimed quintet would go on to release five more full-length LPs\, rack up nearly 50 million streams\, land festival slots at Outside Lands\, High Sierra\, and Hardly Strictly Bluegrass\, tour with Lake Street Dive\, The Devil Makes Three\, and Yonder Mountain String Band\, and build up a devoted following thanks to their raucous live shows and relentless schedule. \n

SUMMARY:CB Ski Patrol: 44th Annual Wall to Wall Fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:Each winter\, the Attitude Adjustment fundraiser is one of the biggest parties in Crested Butte\, a town known for its parties\, and this year we’re going bigger than ever – with groovy live music from The Motet and tasty bites from Burnell’s Food Truck. But the fun doesn’t stop there\, because this party’s for a good cause\, too… \nWhat started in the winter of ‘78-’79 to raise some extra money for a ski patroller who sustained life-altering injuries has since broadened its horizons\, helping support hundreds of community members and non-profits in need. Last year’s event managed to raise over $30\,000\, donated as grants directly towards this cause\, and this year we’re hoping to raise even more. So mark your calendars for February 7th\, dust off your boogie shoes\, and get ready to join us for a night of dancing\, community\, and a whole lotta fun. \nThe Motet \nAfter 26 years\, nine albums\, and over a thousand shows\, The Motet embark on another chapter galvanized in equal measure by their longstanding bond and a surge of fresh energy. The genre-breaking group—Dave Watts [drums]\, Joey Porter [keys]\, Garrett Sayers [bass]\, Drew Sayers [keys\, saxophone]\, and Ryan Jalbert [guitar]—officially welcome Sarah Clarke [lead vocals] to the family. Their inimitable instrumental interplay proves just as fiery as ever\, while her addition only fuels their collective flame higher. \nTo buy tickets\, click here!

SUMMARY:Alpenphunk: A Celebration of Jerry Garcia Band & The Grateful Dead
DESCRIPTION:  \nTickets & Info \n  \nA powerhouse ensemble of genre-defying musicians comes together to honor the timeless legacy of Jerry Garcia Band and the Grateful Dead—two of the most influential forces in American music history. This special celebration brings fresh life to the soulful grooves\, improvisational spirit\, and communal joy that defined Garcia’s music\, from the deeply spiritual ballads of the JGB era to the exploratory psychedelia and raw energy of the Dead. \nAt the heart of the lineup is Eric Krasno\, the Grammy-winning guitarist and producer known for his work with Soulive and Lettuce\, whose love for groove and improvisation makes him a natural torchbearer of Garcia’s spirit. Joining him is Grahame Lesh\, a vital part of the Terrapin Family Band and son of founding Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh\, bringing authentic lineage and deep musicality to the stage. Ross James\, a regular collaborator with Lesh and a standout voice in the modern roots-rock scene\, adds his signature guitar fire and vocal swagger. \nThe show’s emotional core is amplified by the vocal powerhouses Jennifer Hartswick (Trey Anastasio Band) and Nicki Bluhm\, two of the most dynamic and expressive singers of their generation. On keys is Eric Finland\, whose vintage tones and soulful touch evoke the deep gospel and R&B influences of the original JGB sound. Anchoring it all is Stanton Moore\, the legendary drummer from Galactic\, whose New Orleans-infused rhythm keeps the music grounded in feel-good groove and fluid improvisation. \nMore than a tribute\, A Celebration of Jerry Garcia Band & The Grateful Dead is a living\, breathing experience—channeling the heart and soul of a beloved catalog through the unique chemistry of this world-class ensemble. Each performance is a journey\, with room for spontaneity\, joy\, reflection\, and plenty of dancing in between. \n

SUMMARY:Alpenphunk: Soulive
DESCRIPTION:  \nTickets & Info \n  \nFor over two decades\, Soulive has been at the forefront of the modern soul-jazz and funk movement\, crafting a sound that is as timeless as it is innovative. Formed in 1999 by brothers Alan Evans (drums) and Neal Evans (Hammond B3 organ\, bass keys) alongside guitarist Eric Krasno\, the trio quickly became known for their electrifying live shows\, deep-pocket grooves\, and genre-blending improvisation. \nRooted in classic soul and jazz but unafraid to lean into hip-hop\, rock\, and psychedelic funk\, Soulive has cultivated a loyal global following. Their early records like Turn It Out and Doin’ Something established them as torchbearers of a new groove-based instrumental movement\, while later releases like Next\, Break Out\, and No Place Like Soul pushed the boundaries with high-profile guest collaborations (including Chaka Khan\, Talib Kweli\, and Robert Randolph). \nA cornerstone of the legendary Blue Note Records catalog in the early 2000s\, Soulive has since become synonymous with creative independence\, often releasing music on their own terms and performing with a rotating cast of collaborators. They’ve shared the stage with everyone from The Roots to Stevie Wonder and have become festival mainstays at events like Bonnaroo\, Montreux Jazz Festival\, and New Orleans Jazz Fest. \nKnown not just for their technical prowess but for their unmistakable feel\, Soulive brings an infectious joy to their performances—each set a seamless blend of tight arrangements\, spontaneous exploration\, and unrelenting groove. \nWhether playing intimate jazz clubs or headlining large stages\, Soulive continues to evolve while remaining deeply anchored in the musical traditions that inspired them. Their influence runs deep across generations of musicians\, and their sound remains essential listening for anyone who believes in the power of live\, instrumental soul music.

SUMMARY:Hank Azaria and the EZ Street Band – A Springsteen Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Tickets & Info \n  \nCelebrating the Center’s 38th Anniversary!\nThe Center is turning 38! Join us at 6:30pm for specialty priced cocktails and free food to kick off the night! \nHank Azaria & The EZ Street Band \nHank Azaria & The EZ Street Band is a true labor of love for Azaria\, a lifelong Bruce Springsteen fan. “I’ve never worked harder preparing for any role than I did in perfecting a singing vocal impression of Bruce\,” Azaria says. \nBest known as an Emmy-winning actor and voice artist on The Simpsons\, Azaria now brings his talents to the stage in a totally new way—leading a high-energy Springsteen tribute concert. Months of vocal training and character work went into developing a performance that captures Bruce’s distinctive cadence\, energy\, and presence. \nAs he told Rolling Stone\, “I think of it as a theatrical performance. I’m staying in character as Bruce—even though I’m telling stories about myself. It’s a performance piece\, but I’m not a Bruce impersonator.” \n

SUMMARY:Off The Page: The Way Out With Devon O'Neil
DESCRIPTION:  \nTickets & Info \n  \nThe Way Out: A True Story of Survival in the Heart of the Rockies by Colorado-based journalist Devon O’Neil is a harrowing true story\, capturing a tale of survival\, tragedy\, and resilience in the Colorado backcountry. This unforgettable narrative takes readers into the heart of the Salida\, Colorado community\, scarred by loss and the complex questions that follow in the wake of disaster. \nIn January 2017\, three fathers and four teenage children set off on what was meant to be a memorable bonding trip in the rugged wilderness. During the trip\, a fifteen-year-old young man and a legendary local Forest Service ranger embarked on what should have been a brief ski into the alpine backcountry. Within hours\, an unpredictable blizzard transformed their adventure into a thirty-hour ordeal that left the entire community reeling. \nThrough exclusive first-hand interviews and a painstakingly researched\, vivid reconstruction of events\, O’Neil chronicles the life-or-death struggle while dissecting the emotional wreckage left behind. He also probes deeper questions: what drives outdoorsmen and women to seek out adventure despite the risk? When tragedy strikes\, how does a community support the survivors? And most importantly\, how do those touched by loss begin to find healing and forgiveness in the face of the unthinkable? \nDevon O’Neil is an accomplished journalist based in Breckenridge. Known for longform narratives at the intersections of adventure\, psychology\, and resilience. He began his career as a daily newspaperman before making his mark as a staff writer for ESPN.com and a correspondent for Outside magazine. His work has earned recognition in the Best American Travel Writing and Best American Sports Writing anthologies and has twice been a finalist for national awards in civic journalism. Raised on the island of St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands\, O’Neil studied psychology at Middlebury College\, a background that informs his reporting about the mental and emotional challenges faced by adventurers. When he’s not writing\, O’Neil spends his winters maintaining a network of backcountry ski cabins above 11\,000 feet\, embodying the adventurous spirit he so often writes about.

With double clawhammer banjos\, close harmonies\, and a deep reverence for traditional music\, they reimagine roots and old-time tunes with fresh arrangements and thoughtful interpretation. Their sound is both grounded and exploratory\, where tradition meets experimentation\, and where ancient songs are sung anew. \nTogether\, they blend Natalie’s evocative voice and multi-instrumentalism with David’s groove-driven sensibility and global folk influences. SUMMARY:Fall Folk Concert Series: The Rememberers
DESCRIPTION:More Info \n  \nIntroducing Fall Folk — a new\, free music series at the Center for the Arts celebrating the rich sounds of folk music. Cozy up for intimate performances from talented artists\, all set against the backdrop of crisp autumn evenings. No tickets needed. Simply show up\, enjoy the sounds\, and grab a complimentary drink on us! \nThe ReMemberers is a multidisciplinary performance collective blending ritual storytelling\, sacred song\, and live instrumentation into a prismatic experience of traditional myth and memory. Part theatre\, part concert\, part ceremony. Annie Southard’s numinous vocalizations\, Alex Harvey’s vibrating strings\, and John de Kadt’s masterful storytelling converge in a dynamic interplay that transports audiences into states of poetic resonance. Their performances awaken ancient tales from folkloric and mystical traditions\, live-scored\, with both traditional and original melodies from around the world. \nEach gathering hosted by The ReMemberers invites listeners to journey inward\, exploring the shifting contours of their inner mythologies through an encounter with a traditional wisdom tale. Through spiraling rhythms\, layered exposition\, and playful revelation\, the performance dissolves psychic boundaries and reconnects the dismembered parts of the audience’s individual\, collective\, and ancestral subconscious. This communion of spoken word and sacred song knits together some of the most profound and enduring customs of being human. \n
