SUMMARY:Live at the Center: Leftover Salmon
DESCRIPTION:For the past quarter-century\, Colorado’s Leftover Salmon has established itself as one of the great purveyors of Americana music\, digging deep into the well that supplies its influences; rock ‘n’ roll\, folk\, bluegrass\, Cajun\, soul\, zydeco\, jazz and blues. \nDuring their twenty-five plus years as a band they have headlined shows and festivals from coast to coast\, released nine albums\, and maintained a vibrant\, relevant and influential voice in the music world. \nThe evolution of Leftover Salmon’s music is influenced by Leftover Salmon co-founders Drew Emmitt (mandolin/vocals) and Vince Herman‘s (guitar/singer) keen musical instincts\, and follows a musical path that adheres to the deep tradition the duo started when they first formed the group along with deceased banjo player Mark Vann. \nThe addition of new band members over the years has nurtured an unmistakable evolution and freshness in Leftover Salmon’s sound\, and has added an edge to the long-lasting power of the band’s music. \nTickets & Info \n

SUMMARY:Live at the Center: John Craigie w/Special Guest Daniel Rodriguez
DESCRIPTION:Portland\, OR-based singer\, songwriter\, and producer John Craigie adapts moments of solitude into stories perfectly suited for old Americana fiction anthologies. Instead of leaving them on dog-eared pages\, he projects them widescreen in flashes of simmering soul and folk eloquence. \nCraigie sells out shows consistently coast-to-coast and earns acclaim from Rolling Stone\, Glide Magazine\, No Depression\, and many more. \nCraigie has reached a series of watershed moments. Beyond headlining venues such as The Fillmore and gracing the stage of Red Rocks Amphitheater\, his 2020 offering Asterisk The Universe earned unanimous tastemaker applause. Rolling Stone noted\, “tracks like ‘Don’t Deny’ and ‘Climb Up’ bridge a Sixties and Seventies songwriter vibe with the laid-back cool of Jack Johnson\, an early supporter of Craigie\,” while Glide Magazine hailed it as “one of his best records.” \nPerhaps\, No Depression put it best\, “For many weary and heavy- listeners hearted\, the album might be exactly what they need.” Along the way\, he generated over 40 million total streams and counting\, speaking to his unassuming impact. \n  \nTickets & Info \n

SUMMARY:Live at the Center: Infamous Stringdusters
DESCRIPTION:Formed in 2005\, the Nashville-based acoustic group the Infamous Stringdusters balance a fluency in old-timey bluegrass and indie jamgrass sensibilities with an emphasis on strong instrumental work plus a sound that’s both organic and groove friendly. \nThe band earned a stellar reputation among bluegrass fans right out of the box\, earning three International Bluegrass Music Association awards after the release of their 2007 debut album\, Fork in the Road\, and they began exploring a more ambitious musical approach with 2010’s Things That Fly that won them favor with the acoustic jam band community. \nThe Stringdusters’ genre-spanning approach got a workout on 2016’s Ladies & Gentlemen\, in which they collaborated with 11 different female guest musicians\, and they took a clear-eyed look at social and political issues on their 2022 effort Toward the Fray. \n  \nTickets & Info \n

SUMMARY:Live Theatre Reading: Henry and Ellen
DESCRIPTION:Tickets & Info \n  \nHenry and Ellen is a powerful and moving two character play that tells the love story of two of the greatest actors of all time\, Sir Henry Irving and his leading lady\, Ellen Terry. Henry is brilliant\, eccentric\, deeply inhibited offstage\, narrow in range but astonishingly powerful\, meticulous and driven. Ellen is spontaneous\, utterly charming\, much more inclined to take things as they come\, and compulsively makes fun of him. But they are two wounded people who find each other\, love each other\, and work together wonderfully for many years before Ellen’s growth and Henry’s inflexibility threaten to tear them apart forever. \nA tribute to two great performers and extraordinarily compelling people\, this play contains a wealth of exceptional monologue and scene material for actors.

SUMMARY:Live at the Center: The Marriage of Figaro
DESCRIPTION:This event\, along with Totally Mozart (August 5) is to benefit the Arts scene of Crested Butte and provide performance opportunities  for musicians and singers. Singers making up the chorus for Totally Mozart are  Gunnison County residents as well as guests from the Front Range. The Marriage  of Figaro and Totally Mozart is being co-produced by the Center for the Arts and  the mother-daughter duo of Elizabeth and Emily Bond\, Double D Productions. \nThe Marriage of Figaro\, Mozart’s delightfully chaotic opera\, is a whirlwind  comedy of mistaken identities. It tells a story that takes place on a single crazy  day – the wedding day of servants to the Count\, Figaro and Susanna. From the  first notes of the famous overture through to their boss’s lesson in marital fidelity\,  the women are portrayed as wiser\, shrewder and more gentile than the men.  Even so\, they love their men\, and singing together\, they all make glorious music! \n  \nTickets & Info \n  \n

SUMMARY:Live at the Center: Reckless Kelly
DESCRIPTION:Understanding the virtuosity of Reckless Kelly requires the perspective of where the band has been. Cody and Willy Braun grew up in the White Cloud Mountains of Idaho. They moved to Bend\, Oregon\, and then migrated to that great musical fountainhead\, Austin\, Texas. \nThe band’s co-founders and frontmen toured the country as part of their father’s band\, Muzzie Braun and the Boys\, as children. They performed on The Tonight Show twice. Their father taught his four sons a professional ethic – integrity\, persistence\, hard work and professionalism – honed over three generations. They overcame hardships\, struggled for recognition\, and learned the lessons of the trial and error that defined them. \n  \nTickets & Info \n  \n
