DESCRIPTION:What: Each year\, CBMBA volunteers come out for a full weekend of trail work and good times. This year\, we’re working on 405.3a (Hammer Trail) and putting in a crazy fun and sustainable re-route. RSVP (to info@cbmba.org) is required for a head count for food and space for camping. \nWhen: Saturday 8/13 and Sunday 8/14\, beginning work at 10am each day. Please RSVP. \nWhere: Workday HQ and camping is near the very top of Walrod Gulch.  It’s a high clearance road\, so if you can’t make it\, CBMBA is glad to bring in your overnight and workday gear so you can ride or hike up to the HQ area. \nDetails: The point of these overnights is to get deep in there\, and b/c of that\, we stay there overnight!  We’re supported by Rim Tours and food is provided for Saturday night\, Sunday morning\, and for a Sunday lunch.  Work will begin on Saturday morning at 10am. We’ll break up into multiple groups\, each with a crew leader\, and head to a section of trail for instruction followed by construction. After a full day of work\, everyone will head back to the campsite at 4pm to enjoy plenty of libations from Ska Brewing\, followed by stellar raffle prizes and backcountry catering by Rim Tours. Volunteers are invited to camp out on-site\, enjoy a campfire and laughs\, and then wake up Sunday morning to coffee\, breakfast\, and a make-your-own sandwich bar provided by Rim Tours\, before getting back to work.  We’ll stage tools up on the trail\, as it’s another 1.7 miles from the HQ/camping area to the trail work.  So biking in\, e-biking in\, and/or Moto’ing in is recommended as it’s a haul to get up there!  Walrod Rd is a high clearance road\, so if you need to bike or hike in\, CBMBA will bring your camping and working gear in for you! As part of your RSVP\, let us know if we can help get your gear in.  Parking for those who need to bike or hike in can be done across the way from the main Walrod parking area.  Signs will be present to direct you – see maps below.  Please do RSVP for the headcount/food count\, as well as if we can help you by getting your gear in for you. \nWhat To Bring: Work gloves\, long pants\, hat\, boots or sturdy shoes\, backpack for items you want on the trail\, water and snacks for Saturday (we recommend you carry 2 liters on trail)\, sunscreen\, camping gear and warm clothes for Saturday night. Lots of water – can’t have enough!  Bring enough food outside of the meals that Rim Tours will provide. \nWhat We Supply: Tools\, water at the campsite\, Saturday dinner\, Sunday breakfast\, Sunday lunch\, beer\, campsite\, backcountry bathrooms. \nDon’t miss this family-friendly community event! DESCRIPTION:The Great Rubber Duckie Race is the Crested Butte/Mt Crested Butte Rotary Club’s sole fundraiser for the year. We host the duck race on Coal Creek the first Sunday in August and it’s a lot of fun! \nEach $10 ticket or $500 Big Duck goes towards the goal of raising over $55\,000 each year. \nBUY 2022 TICKETS HERE\nWhere does the money go? \nEach year\, the CB/Mt CB Rotary has two grant cycles where roughly $8\,000 is distributed to local non-profit organizations that have a focus on providing resources and scholarships to children as well as organizations that our community depends on. \nEvery spring the Rotary gives $25\,000 in college scholarships to local students headed off to college. This is a jeep trip on difficult mountain mining roads. Obstacles range from simple potholes to tight and difficult rocky trails. Jeep Wranglers are the vehicle of choice and mild additions like lift kits and larger tires are recommended. As always\, please make sure you have at least: extra water\, a functional spare tire\, an appropriate jack and tools supplied by Jeep or a highlift jack\, tire changing tools\, snacks\, extra coats and/or a blanket\, an umbrella for sun or rain\, and durable hiking shoes that are also comfortable. We do not recommend any SUVs\, but there are exceptions for vehicles that have been modified to tackle off road terrain – these vehicles will need to be approved by the CBMF via photograph. Please ask if you have any questions regarding vehicle choice.

You’ll leave with tools that increase your listening ability while gaining a greater appreciation of the wonder of music. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLecturer: Emily Ondracek-Peterson \nViolinist Emily Ondracek-Peterson is Co-Artistic Director of the CBMF. As a violinist\, she has appeared as soloist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and New York Philharmonic\, recorded for Naxos\, Bridge\, Albany\, and Toccata labels\, and been awarded Chamber Music America’s ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming. Frequently she performs at the world’s leading venues such as Carnegie Hall\, the Guggenheim Museum\, and Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw. As an educator\, she has been a two-time Morse Fellow\, was a New York Philharmonic Teaching Artist\, and has been Artist-in-Residence at Dartmouth\, Williams\, and the Universities of Virginia\, Leeds (UK)\, and Columbia. She earned undergraduate and graduate degrees at the prestigious Juilliard School and a doctorate at Columbia University. Additionally\, she holds an MBA. After enjoying this amazingly beautiful performance\, you’ll join experts from the Observatory to view through powerful telescopes the natural wonders of the universe. \n\n\nTickets include hors d’oeuvres and drinks! \n\n\n\n\nPerformer: Anna Arzumanyan \nRussian-Armenian pianist Anna Arzumanyan made her debut at age 9 in Sochi\, Russia. A student of Erna Savchenko and Svetlana Medvedskay\, Ms. Arzumanyan competed and performed\, appearing as a soloist with the Belorussian State Orchestra\, the Rostov Philharmonic\, the Sochi Symphony Orchestra\, and as a soloist at festivals throughout Eastern Europe. At a young age Ms. Arzumanyan was selected for sponsorship by the prestigious New Name Foundation. With their support\, she performed frequently across the Soviet Union and participated in masterclasses and performances at the Moscow Conservatory. Ms. Arzumanyan went on to perform as a soloist in France and Belgium. Before emigrating to the United States\, she received her masters degrees in piano performance and chamber music performance from the Yerevan State Conservatory\, where she studied with Alexander Gourgenov. Shortly after her arrival in Colorado\, Ms. Arzumanyan became a frequent collaborator with the Moscow String Quartet. \nGet your tickets here!
