SUMMARY:Trek for Life
DESCRIPTION:The Event\nThe Trek for Life is an event to celebrate the life and memory of Kyle Uhl who committed suicide in October of 2018 in Crested Butte\, Colorado. We are recreating the same hike that Kyle made on the same weekend in 2018—to raise awareness and stimulate a dialog about suicide and suicide prevention\, and to address the stigma associated with mental health illness among those living at high altitudes. \nThe Wast Maroon Trail Hike\nThis is a one day\, one-way\, 10-mile hike near Aspen\, Colorado to Crested Butte through the National Forest and some of the most beautiful wilderness area of Colorado. The hike will begin at the Maroon Lake Trailhead on Saturday morning and will proceed over West Maroon Pass and then down to Schofield Park Trailhead. Here\, participants can hike\, bike\, or catch a ride for the last 11.5 miles to The Elevation Resort and Spa for a final remembrance and celebration! \nSuicide and mental health issues have touched just about everyone in this community. I hope you’ll join us on one of the most desirable trails in the U.S. which is timed to coincide with the dry weather and the beauty of the turning Aspen trees.

If it is too high blindness\, nerve damage and many other maladies result. Once you have it will never go away.
