CANCELED Flauschink

$3Due to an outbreak of the Covid-19 in Crested Butte, all events in from March through April 8th are CANCELED
Flauschink, a spring holiday, was started in 1969 by George Sibley, among others, to celebrate the “flushing out of winter and welcoming of spring.” This historic event continues to this day towards the beginning of the spring thaw, Its a reminder how wonderful the spring and summer months in Crested Butte really are. This year marks the 51st year of the event! It is the oldest festival in Crested Butte.
Flushing out the winter
The event takes place in a variety of of locations over the week including a parade. You must have a Flaushink button to attend any most of the events. This button can be purchased at the door for $3. Below is a listing of events:
- April 2: Historic mining and ski slide show and talk with history professor Duane Vandenbusche , 7pm Crested Butte Museum. $5 admission.
- April 4: Coronation Ball and Poka by Pete Dundra Poka Band featuring Chris Rouse, 8pm Bonez $5 admission
- April 5: Flauschink Parade, 11am Elk Avenue. all are welcome to watch or even participate in the parade
- April 6: Afternoon skiing to Flauschink Hill above the Uley’s Cabin & Ice Bar, 1pm and on.
