Crested Butte 2014 Summer Music Guide

Crested Butte may be renowned for its wildflowers, outdoor activities, and unmatched setting, but add a little music to the mix and you’ve got the combination for a perfect summer.  On Monday and Wednesday nights grab your blanket and camp chair, and head down with some friends to the best FREE parties of the summer: Alpenglow and the Live from Mt. CB Concert Series.  These outdoor venues will serve up a variety of musical performers showcasing rock, jazz, blues, funk, bluegrass, swing, and more!

Alpenglow

The Center for the Arts presents these free concerts on Monday nights starting at 5:30pm rain or shine.  The venue is the outdoor stage adjacent to the Center in the Crested Butte Town Park.  Tents serving food and drinks with a cash bar are present.

Presented by the Mt. Crested Butte Town Center Community Association, The Live from Mt. CB free music series will take place at the Red Lady Stage in Mt. Crested Butte from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The 17th annual Crested Butte Music Festival (CBMF) promises to be a festival for all the senses, delivering several once-in-a-lifetime chances to enjoy more than 40 world-class performances in intimate venues and a beautiful mountain setting from June 29 – Aug. 10. “More than 160 musicians from around the world will fill the Gunnison Valley with music for six weeks. Audiences will be transfixed with award-winning artists in every genre including bluegrass, opera, chamber, symphony and jazz,” says Festival Director Alexander Scheirle.

Bluegrass in Paradise 7/4 – 7/7

Gypsy Jazz in Paradise 8/8 – 8/10

Now in its fourth year, Gypsy Jazz In Paradise will celebrate one of the most passionate, exhilarating up-tempo styles of jazz today. Ben Powell, will be hosting this year, featuring the Frank Vignola and Vinnie Raniolo, Kruno Spisic Group and The Black Market Trust.   For more info and to purchase tickets  click here.
